CVSA Out-of-Service Criteria 5.0.2

The North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria, annually updated by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) on April 1, serves as a crucial tool for commercial motor vehicle safety inspectors in identifying severe violations that lead to commercial vehicles and/or drivers being placed out of service until necessary corrections are made.

This application features the out-of-service criteria, inspection bulletins, genuine photo illustrations of vehicle violations and hazardous materials/dangerous goods infractions, as well as access to the CVSA Learning portal for online training materials, inspection protocols, operational guidelines, instructional videos, brochures, and additional resources.

Comprised of safety officials in the commercial motor vehicle sector and representatives of the motor carrier industry, CVSA is dedicated to enhancing commercial motor vehicle safety and consistency across Canada, Mexico, and the United States by delivering guidance and educational resources to enforcement agencies, industry stakeholders, and policymakers.

The North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria is refreshed annually on April 1 in conjunction with the publication of each year's handbook edition.
